Team Member Spotlight

Hometown? Years in Profession?
“Santa Rosa, 3 years.”
Before working at LACO, what was the most unusual or interesting job you had?
“Yikes! I think all my past jobs have been interesting because they have all been different. I have painted murals, called BINGO for seniors at an assisted living, taken care of vacation homes on the coast, made Hawaiian coffee drinks… There hasn’t been a job I haven’t thoroughly enjoyed or felt engaged with.”
What have you gained from working at LACO?
“I have gained the knowledge of what it is like to feel part of a team. LACO has been so inclusive, from the very beginning. I miss seeing everyone in person, but I still feel closely connected to our offices and staff from our virtual meetings.”
Favorite movie?
“Peter Pan (2003)”
What were you like as a 10-year-old?
“I was very free-spirited and sensitive in my youth. I loved the magic of theater, being outside with my goats, and anything that seemed particularly ‘fancy’.”
If given the chance, who would you like to be for a day?
“An extravagantly dressed circus performer. I want to make the kiddos ‘ooh’ and ‘ahh’.”
You are happiest when?
“When I am busy! Whether I am out with my family, pulling weeds, or doing a session of ‘marathon cleaning’, I love being up and getting things checked off my list.”
What is your favorite holiday & why?
“I love the Christmas season. The forest is my happy place, so bringing a tree into the house always feels so good to me. I love unwrapping the ornaments every year and remembering moments in childhood where all my family would gather to make the holidays special for us kids. The best!”
The best gift you got for yourself?
“A year-long subscription to Calm, the meditation app. I use it religiously at bedtime to help me sleep, and I love how it asks me what I am grateful for every day.”
Biggest pet peeve?
“Passive aggressive communication. Clarity is vital for good communication. Say what you mean and mean what you say.”
