Portrait of Alejandra Ruiz, Staff Engineer

Alejandra Ruiz

Senior Staff Engineer

Ms. Ruiz interned to LACO Associates in 2017 after receiving her B.S. in Civil Engineering. As an intern, she was involved in stormwater compliance and aided in developing engineering preliminary reports. She left LACO to pursue an M.S. in Civil and Environmental Engineering and graduated from the University of California, Davis in 2019. Her M.S. project focused on evaluating common NOM removal strategies in WTPs to assess possible parameter modifications to optimize NOM removal in response to changes in water quality following wildfires. Her previous work experience includes working as a student assistant at the UC Davis Wastewater Treatment Plant where she learned how to conduct BOD and Bac-T testing and measured TSS and TDS. Now back on the LACO team, she is eager to continue her professional development.
