Harris Texaco Remediation

This site has been operating as a retail gasoline fueling station since 1962. After three underground storage tanks (USTs) were removed from the site in 1990, our client retained LACO to monitor releases at the site and conduct explorations to delineate impacts to soil and groundwater.

These explorations identified two source zones effecting shallow and deep aquifers, and identified constituents of concern (COCs) including total petroleum hydrocarbons as gasoline (TPHg); benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and total xylenes (BTEX); and methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE). Our project team installed a fixed hydrogen peroxide and ozone (perozone) injection remediation system under a Pay-for-Performance contract. Within two years, our system reduced COC concentrations from baseline values to active remedial targets by 100%.
